I know Spring is already here and it has nothing to do with New Year’s, but I totally forgot about these photos. So excuse my tardiness! But here’s a chance to find out what we did on New Year’s Day. Ain’t that exciting? 😉
It started out around 3 pm when we Skyped with our family back in Romania. At that hour it was midnight for them. We, on the other hand were in the midst of preparations. You know, the usual: some roasted pork to be served with pickles and potatoes, other appetizers and traditional Romanian sponge cake with turkish delight for desert. We had our first drink with our folks and at one point someone said “Claudia will probably be taking photos when the clock strikes 12!” Of course, I said “No way, that will happen! I’ll be too sleepy.” So we forgot all about it, my family went to bed and we started getting ready to have our annual movie marathon. Yep, we love eating great food and watching great movies/cartoons on New Year’s Eve! 🙂  David was pretty excited as he got to stay up as much as his little heart desired! Every 5-year old’s dream come true, right? Haha!
Around 11:45 pm David starts fouling around with his Santa hat and the cute little reindeer. We were already stuffed with the great food and had seen “Home Alone”. Now,  guess what yours truly does? Takes out the camera and starts taking photos and giggling with David.  In the meantime, Radu was making sure we would have all the family ready for the midnight strike, opening Skype and fetching our (second) drink.
Eventually, 11:59 pm comes so I barely menage to toss (gently!) my camera aside and run with David to fetch our glasses. I guess the prediction turned out to be true after all, eh? But enough is said, so let’s have a look at what faces he come up this time.  🙂
And just for the fun of it, we took a photo with all 8 of us. Thank God for technology, eh? So from left to right we have: David, me and Radu and in the back: Radu’s mom on the left screen and on the other screen: my dad (his face was partially covered by the webcam window), my mom, my big sis and my brother-in-law. It’s kind of neat to celebrate it twice!
Peace and Love,
Claudia
