Do you know what’s a good omen for a photographer at the beginning of a year? An engagement photo session with 2 wonderful www.pointmoneygram.com people! For me those people were Heather & Gary. They love the outdoors and we wanted to bring the mountains to us, so Gary came with the great idea of having the photo session at the ZOO! After all, that’s the best place for luscious, green nature with a hint of Rocky Mountain view! Not to mention the beautiful colors of the poinsettia that we found in the Conservatory! Too bad the butterflies were not around, but we spotted a nice window with a lovely butterfly arrangement so that kind of made it up for the loss.
We set out on our adventure early in the morning to get the ZOO engagement photos we wanted before we were invaded by little kids, strollers, fluffy coats and running noses. It felt kind of nice to have the ZOO all to ourselves. Even the animals were half asleep so we did our best not to bother them too much. Heather was the joy of the session with her big smile and gorgeous eyes, while Gary had the most natural poses I’ve ever seen in a guy. Seriously, he was asking me “So, what do you want me to do?” and I was like “Gary, keep doing what you’re doing cos’ it’s perfect!” Haha!
Our piece de resistance for the session were: a red lantern, some cute little hearts to hand around, a sparkling ring and in-love looks from the couple that filled my heart with joy! Oh, and I should mention the weather. I mean, when was the last time you were in January and the sun was smiling down to Calgary that bright!? Definitely not last year! 🙂 See for yourself!
