Week 5: January 29th – February 4th, 2015
Day 29: This is our little corner of happiness and color. We see it every time to get out of bed and every time we go to bed. They are straw things made by David a while ago, but we still keep them to remind us of how creative he is. We love how he can take the simplest things and transform them into toys and little gadgets. Children are so much fun! Take the time to enjoy them!
Day 30: Another day at the Gymnastics Centre for us. This means David gets to have fun and jump around, while mommy is entertaining Lucas. By the end of the almost two hours of gymnastics, I’m not sure who is more exhausted.. me or David?! Apparently, Radu & I only make kids that are full of energy, cute as a pie and have a stomach that needs a constant all-you-can-eat buffet! I’m dreading the teenage years just thinking of my constantly empty fridge!
Day 31: Hubby had to be my model today. He didn’t want to be in the photos, so I had to come up with another way to use him. Hence, you get the story of mother dove who was chased and almost got eaten by BB Wolf. I am happy to report that she made it safe and sound to her young-lings, while BB Wolf decided that eating cookies is better than doves, and that drinking tea does make his fur look shiny! The End.
Day 32: This marks the beginning of February – the month when it’s also my birthday. During this month, I decided to take photos of things that talk about me, about what I like and who I am. We started off with a classic: “The Parents”
Yes, that’s us, at the end of the day. We start the morning with energy and plans of what we’re going to do in the evening, after we put the kids to bed (you know, things like wash the dishes, prepare lunch for next day, organize the basement and all those trivial stuff…. maybe even get to see another episode of “Once upon a time” on Netflix?!), but by the end of the day we kind of lose all that excitement and look like this. Feel free to relate and/or laugh about it. It’s called a parent’s life. 😉
Day 33: I wanted to photograph myself, with no make-up or hair done, just straight on me. It all started from hearing John Legend’s “All of Me” lyrics:
‘Cause all of me
Loves all of you
Love your curves and all your edges
All your perfect imperfections
Let’s face it: there aren’t too many women in this world who love themselves just the way they are. We all have this perfect image of our self that we try to achieve, so hearing those words made me think that I should start accepting myself just the way I am and love myself more. With imperfect skin and bad hair days and all. Don’t get me wrong, I love being pampered and putting make-up on, and feeling glamorous! But at the end of the day, when I put my PJs on, I want to be grateful for who I am and how I look 🙂
Day 34: Whenever we go for a hike in the mountains I listen carefully for the raven’s call, eagerly watching the sky. I love this bird for it’s cleverness, it’s dark, shiny feathers and for all the stories, legends and symbols attached to it. The first one that I ever read was when I was in my tweens and it was the Greek legend of Apollo and his faithful messenger, the white raven. When the raven brought news to Apollo about his lover’s infidelity, princess Coronis, Apollo was so enraged, that he cursed the raven to have feathers as dark as the news he brought. Pretty unfair thing to do in my opinion, but I still like the story.
