Life just happens.

One minute you start out as something tiny growing inside another person, the next you have your first knee scrape as you learn to ride your bike and the next you feel all giddy and happy because you just kissed the person you had a crush on. Later on, you’re taking your kids to kindergarden and some years down the road you take your grand kids to the park.

And then you die.

Life just happens.

You can choose to give in, like I did. I was in a constant wake-up, feed the kids, get them to school, come back home, shoot and edit, prep dinner, go to sleep kind of mode. But then I woke up. I realized that I don’t take photos of my family that often. I don’t have any photos of things that are important to me, or important to my family. And then something else hit me… When I’m 50, 70 or 90 years old, how will I remember all this? I want to remember Lucas crying for David to play with him and Radu’s first skiing lesson and David practicing his guitar… and even myself, capturing all those moments. So I chose to not give in.

Hence, I started my 365 day project. Welcome! I hope you enjoy my photographic journey for the next 365 days.

Week 1: January 1st – January 7th, 2015

Day 1: Happy New Year! David managed to stay up until midnight to light the fireworks with us. Hurray!

Day 2: Lucas loved our Christmas tree! He was fascinated by the Christmas lights and the little bells decorations. Oh, and David get a letter today from Grandpa with a story about Sylvester and Tweety. He loves Grandpas’s stories with those two 🙂

Day 3: Every night, before we go to sleep, hubby and I check the kids to make sure they’re tucked in and to also enjoy their peacefulness.

Day 4: First day of learning how to ski for Radu! Don’t need to say that he loved it, eh? First day for Lucas of going to Nakiska in winter time.

Day 5: The first room I painted, ever! It was quite the challenge to put on walls what was in my head, but I love, love the outcome!
